Virginia Tech Students Visit Pocahontas
January 25th & 26th, 2024, was another exciting few days for HPI and the Town of
Pocahontas!! Virginia Tech collaborated with the Town and HPI, along with many residents, to discuss what is needed to help Pocahontas
thrive. VT Architecture students and Professor Mr. Jones toured the Fuel Building and Dr. Ballard’s Office with some of our HPI Members and even mapped out and measured the Fuel Building!!
This lovely group of Architecture students will
continue to visit Pocahontas throughout the semester and focus on impact-oriented designs for “Appalachian Futures Lab.” The main goal at hand is to use interactions with community groups to document all aspects of structures around town and create designs for the community to use for grant proposals.
